The wood lathe chuck is a fundamental mechanical device when using a machine tool such as the lathe. It is in fact a tool to be used when performing turning operations. It is formed by a platform that has grooves, along which the jaws slide which allow to fix the workpiece. The jaws close and open simultaneously in a concentric way and in this way allow to keep the centering of the piece intact.
The lathe spindle is self-centering and equipped with 4 reversible jaws. Compatible with wood lathe models 0758 and 0751, it allows the fixing of the workpiece and guarantees its stability and safety. This type of tool is ideal for fixing circular pieces or pieces with an irregular or polygonal section, whose number of sides is divisible by 4.
The diameter of the wood lathe chuck is 125 mm, this allows it to have a wide clamping range both in compression and in expansion. Made of steel, it is a device designed to have considerable resistance and can offer high durability over time.
The central hole of the wood lathe chuck is 22 mm in diameter. The thread, on the other hand, is 1 ”- 8 TPI. The net weight of the instrument is 2.78 kg.
