The benchtop wood lathe Fervi 0497 is a solution designed to allow workpieces of wood to be machined by chip removal. During machining, the cutting motion is defined by the motion of the workpiece, which rotates on its own axis. This type of machinery is ideal for craftsmen's workshops or companies that need to perform turning, facing or profiling operations on wooden pieces. The lathe is to be considered completely manual in that it only performs movements under direct command from the operator.

The spindle, installed on the shaft of the wood lathe head, consists of a plate with holes for fixing the workpiece. To adjust the spindle's rotation speed, it is necessary to move the motor drive belts. The supplied tool holder carriage allows the tool to be supported while turning operations are carried out. The lathe's tailstock, with a cast iron body, guarantees rigidity and stability in all conditions of use.

Two different models of the benchtop wood lathe are available, which differ in terms of the maximum turning diameter that can be reached and the power of the engine. In fact, the first model has a maximum lathing diameter of 250 mm and 370 W motor power, while the second model has a maximum lathing diameter of 300 mm and 550 W motor power.

Both benchtop wood lathe models are to be considered service machines and not production machines, and therefore are not suitable for extended use during the working day. The distance between centres is 457 mm for both models.
