Pillar drills and drill presses

Pillar drills and magnetic drills represent machine tools that allow drilling and spot boring operations to be carried out on different types of metal material. The range is complete with solutions that can be positioned directly on the floor, but also with bench drills. Fundamental characteristics, which must condition the choice of the tool are: the dimensions of the table, the dimensions of the spindle attachment, the spindle stroke and the diameter of the column.

Radial floor drill presses, also called radial column drills due to their structure, also move the arm that holds the drilling head on the horizontal axis. In this way they offer the possibility to carry out drilling operations in any desired point of the piece to be machined and at different angles. They allow precision machining even on the most resistant materials.

When choosing floor drill presses it is important to take into consideration the type of rotation speed transmission to the spindle. The latter can be geared, ideal for heavy-duty machining and where many changes in rotation speed are required (eg processing of samples); or belt, preferable for medium-heavy machining and where few changes in rotation speed are required (eg production processes).

Bench drills presses, also called column bench drills due to their structure, are ideal for when the space available is more restricted. This type of drills allows you to drill even the most resistant metals in a precise manner, reducing the overall dimensions to a minimum. In fact, they can be used using work benches or other furniture as support.

Unlike column drills, magnetic drills ensure fastening directly to the magnetic surface. In this way, this can be worked both vertically and horizontally. In fact, when they are properly fixed, they allow operators to perform precision drilling.
