Roll containers

Roll containers are the ideal solution for handling, shipping and storage operations in any business and professional environment. The wide range consists of roll containers made entirely by our company which for over 30 years has been involved in the production and direct sale of roll supermarkets for the large-scale distribution of the food sector; roll trolleys for industrial laundries, catering, hospitals, public bodies and communities, couriers and the transport sector in general.

The quality of the roll containers is ensured: the products are equipped as standard with double welds on all the wires of the welded mesh, insertion pipes with internal reinforcement core, drain holes on the upper part of the frame of the walls, identification plate and year of construction. These details distinguish the Rollawaycontainer brand trolley from imitations making it a long-lasting, robust, safe and recognized product by all professionals and operators in the logistics sector.

Thanks to the wide selection of roll containers it will be easy to find the right product for every need by choosing between small, standard or oversized rolls. Furthermore, it is possible to select the roll resistant to theft attempts when safety becomes fundamental, or the kit consisting of a 3-wall roll, ideal for industrial laundries.

To ensure maximum customization of the roll containers, the range is complete with accessories: it is possible to select additional walls for the rear and front closure, shelves, clothes rails, waterproof protections and different types of nylon, polypropylene, elastic rubber and in polyurethane nylon.

How to choose the right roll container?

To choose the most suitable roll container, it is important to evaluate several technical aspects:

  • Wheel type: materials such as nylon, polypropylene or polyurethane affect rolling performance, durability, load capacity and noise during handling.
  • Type of use: standard H 1800 roll containers are widely used in distribution and logistics centers, while large-volume roll containers are designed for bulky goods. In warehouses, production departments and retail stores, Picking and Shelf roll containers are particularly popular. There are also non-standard models designed for narrow passages or limited spaces, such as pass-through and mini roll containers.
  • Security level: for sensitive goods or retail environments, security roll containers with lockable doors are commonly used.
What customizations are available for roll containers?

Roll containers can be equipped with various accessories and configurations, including:

  • additional side panels
  • different wheel types
  • intermediate shelves for supporting goods
  • tension straps
  • document holders
  • disposable roll container covers
  • protective covers for different environmental conditions
What is UNI EN 12674 certification for roll containers?

UNI EN 12674 is the European standard that defines the design and safety requirements for roll containers used in logistics. It sets construction requirements and testing methods to verify:

  • stability
  • structural strength
  • load capacity

It also defines the minimum resistance levels that products must meet in order to be certified as safe.

Is UNI EN 12674 certification mandatory?

The latest version of the standard, EN 12674-4, was adopted in Italy in 2015. Although it is not yet explicitly referenced in a single piece of legislation, it represents the de facto safety standard in large-scale retail and logistics.

It is also an important reference for demonstrating the choice of safe equipment in accordance with occupational safety regulations.

Why is it important to choose a certified roll container?

The standard ensures a design focused on accident prevention. In particular, a certified roll container offers:

  • Guaranteed load capacity: it ensures both static and dynamic load resistance.
  • Structural strength: the roll container is tested to withstand impacts and stress during loading and unloading operations.
  • Legal protection: it provides stronger protection in the event of inspections by regulatory authorities or workplace accidents.
Is a manufacturer's declaration of conformity sufficient?

A manufacturer may declare conformity under its own responsibility, but the legal value of this declaration can be limited and open to challenge, especially if:

  • it is not supported by official technical test reports
  • the tests were not carried out using calibrated instruments from accredited laboratories
  • the sales invoice does not refer to the UNI EN 12674 standard
  • the product does not show the year of manufacture and the manufacturer's details

Accepting only a simple declaration may therefore leave the customer with significant responsibility. In the event of an accident, the customer would need to prove that the roll container actually complied with the standard.
