Metal lathe Fervi T660

The Fervi T660 metal lathe represents the machine tool par excellence for machining ferrous metal materials. It is a machine designed to allow the realization of processes such as cylindrical turning, facing, profiling, drilling and boring and threading. The operation of the machine is completely manual, as it performs movements only if given by a direct command from the operator. It is also recommended that the machine be used intermittently throughout the day and not continuously as it is a service machine and not a production machine.

The Fervi lathe is supplied complete with a partially assembled bench with two cabinets supplied: in this way it will be possible to store the necessary tools in the immediate vicinity of the lathe. Furthermore, the load-bearing bed is made of cast iron.

The sliding tool trolley, along the guides of the pallet, is used to fix the tool and to transmit the positioning and advancement motions to it. To adjust the position of the carriage and the tool holder slides, the levers and handwheels located on the carriage are used. Furthermore, the lathe is equipped with gears (with Semi-Norton box) capable of guaranteeing a considerable availability of feeds and threads. The latter are obtained using the knobs marked with Roman numerals and letters: by varying the position and diameter of the gears, as shown in the tables located above the knobs, there will be different feeds and threading pitches.

The tailstock consists of a cast iron body that ensures rigidity and stability in all conditions of use and is complete with manual controls (levers, handwheels and screws) that allow fine adjustment and advancement. Furthermore, the lathe is supplied complete with steady rests (fixed and mobile) for the management of those operations in which it is not possible to use the tailstock to fix the workpiece (e.g. drilling, boring and facing) or for cases in which the pieces to be machined are long and heavy and it is not enough to use only a self-centering spindle, but it is precisely necessary to fix the opposite end of the piece by means of a steady rest.

To allow workpieces of different shapes and sizes to be machined, a 3-jaw self-centering chuck and a 4-jaw independent and reversible chuck are included in the standard supply of the Fervi metal lathe. In this way it will also be possible to carry out special processes that require the axis of the piece to be off-center.

The metal lathe is available in two different versions. The first is equipped with a belt speed change: in this case it is possible to adjust the spindle rotation speed only using the belts (positioning them in a different way following the indications on the plate affixed to the control panel). The second is instead at variable speed: the adjustment of the spindle rotation speed can be done through the belts, but also through a potentiometer. The adjustment made using this command allows you to vary the number of spindle revolutions in the range of the transmission ratio that you are using while the machine is in motion. Next to the potentiometer there is a display that allows you to view the spindle rotation speed. Finally, in the latter model, the presence of the inverter allows you to change the spindle speed while keeping the power constant.
